Restaurant Jeannette brings international cuisine to the historic Château de Roche in Franche-Comté. Executive Chef Marco Cardoso draws on his heritage from the southern tip of Africa, returning to French soil where, centuries ago, Huguenot exiles helped shape a remarkable culinary crossroads – Eastern spices meeting classical French technique, trade weaving cultures together, and a new identity taking form.Our menu celebrates this story through generous sharing plates that invite conversation and discovery, each dish paired with wines chosen to heighten the journey. Executive Chef Marco Cardoso developed his acclaimed globally inspired approach at De Eetkamer in Stellenbosch, where his small-plate cuisine spans from Asia to the Mediterranean, and Saskia's in the Swiss Alps, creating dishes that blend world flavors with classical French technique.

Our restaurant takes its name and spirit from Jeannette. For her, the table has always been the heart of the home, where life's most important moments happen over shared meals and conversation. She has a gift for bringing people together, creating experiences where bonds are formed and memories are made across generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She continues to inspire the team at Jeannette through her frequent visits, carrying forward her tradition of hospitality and belief in the power of gathering around the table.
